Half pass, engagement at the trot, bigger canter

March 5, 2010

March 5, 2010

I worked with Jackson on several things. I worked briefly on the half pass. I also worked on going from a relaxed trot to the canter, hoping for a relaxed, slow canter. It worked pretty well to the right. I think that it will help Jackson learn to relax at the canter. We will have to see.

I also worked quite a bit on the rising trot. JP Giacomini says to do the rising trot to help your horse round his back. I did the rising trot, trying to get Jackson to engage his hind end. I think it worked. I really like how he looked a couple of times.
