Okay, I worked Jackson today and got my
brother to take some videos. If you can,
watch them and tell me if you see any
improvement. For myself, I was working on
looking down less, trying to keep my head
and chest up.
The first video has Jackson doing the
passage, half pass, and Spanish Walk. His
Spanish walk is coming along very nicely! I
am so happy with the progress that he has
made. He used to slam his front feet down,
but now he is putting them down more and
more softly. I am also asking him to hold
them in the air just a tiny bit longer. Now
that he is starting to get that, I am going
to start using the endostick to teach him to
keep the back feet moving a little more.
His passage and half pass aren’t very good
yet. I need to go back and do combination
exercises to help him get better in the half
pass.
The second video is just a boring video of
the trot and canter. It shows the small
speed changes that he did at the canter. It
doesn’t look like much on the video, but I
think it is progress for us. I will keep
playing with it and pushing how fast we can
go and how slow we can go.
The trot doesn’t look very forward to me,
but any thoughts would be great! I thought
that toward the end of trotting to the right
that he relaxed more and was more fluid.
