I had to take Jackson to the vet to get a
coggins and health papers. Afterwards, I let
him graze in the yard. In the evening, I
went out and worked with him on line and at
liberty. He did really well. He seemed to
have lots of energy and I kept the work/play
light.
I was asking him to do the “doux passage”
(soft passage). He was doing it very nicely
and then going into a more engaged trot.
Karen was right, it will take a while, but
he will start engaging the hind end. I was
amazed how much he did it today on the lunge
line. I wasn’t even “helping” him with the
endostick; I was just asking him to trot. He
would lower his head a little, lift the base
of his neck, and do a very nice trot! That
was so cool to see.
His Spanish walk is getting a little better.
I have been trying to get him to keep it
softer and more regular. He is definitely
getting better.
The liberty work was full of energy and he
paid attention to me. I asked him to do the
passage while trotting with me. I didn’t use
the cordeo or anything and he did several
really nice steps!
