I got Sadeem and Jackson out today. I only
did a little work with Sadeem. Most of the
time, he stuck right next to me or Jackson.
He did his share of getting in the way of
the video camera and both horses like to
chew on the ball on my whip! I worked just a
few minutes with Sadeem. We worked on the
Ramener with the cordeo and also Jambettes.
He is getting the idea now. The Ramener will
take time. I also look for things I could
reward. When he would run up to me, I would
reward that. He laid down a couple of times,
but I couldn’t get to him in time to reward
them.
Jackson
We didn’t get much done, but we had fun. We
worked a little on rearing. He had the
height, but not the balance. He laid down
several times on his own. A couple of times
he laid down I was asking for the obeisance.
The last time or two I had been working on
the one knee bow and he offered that a bunch
on his own. I asked for the obeisance and
all he wanted to do was bow or lie down. Oh
well, it will come in time.
We also worked on GOTM. He is getting better
at that. He seems able to hold it longer. I
am working on teaching him to do the Ramener
while doing the GOTM. He did it pretty well
today.
We also did some running around. Both
Jackson and Sadeem seemed pretty happy to
run after me and with me. Sadeem is getting
more comfortable with me there and doing
things. Sadeem doesn’t mind when Jackson
lies down right next to him or rears right
in front of him.
It was fun running in the snow. And then
seeing Jackson lie down and roll and come up
sparkling in the sun from the snow on his
coat. Very nice!
